Annual Meeting Announcement

Two days of eatin’ and meetin’ for WVHC folks are planned for the second weekend in October. The WV Highlands Conservancy’s annual general membership meeting and quarterly Board of Directors meeting will be held October 14th at Shot Cherry Cabin on Spruce Mountain in Pendleton County on October 14th. The membership meeting will include the election of 5 directors- at-large to the Conservancy’s Board of Directors, for 2-year terms.

We plan to gather at the Shot Cherry Cabin at about noon on Saturday, October 13th for an afternoon of informal organizational discussions, committee meetings, etc., followed by a potluck supper. Bring one item to share with everyone. Saturday evening may include a speaker, more informal chatting, a campfire and entertainment.

A Sunday morning potluck breakfast will be held at the Cabin at 8:00 AM. Bring something to share with everyone. The formal annual membership meeting starts at 9:00 AM on Sunday, to be followed immediately by the WVHC Board of Directors Annual Meeting on October 14.

The cabin, complete with a small shower, sheets and linens, sleeps 16 people in bunk beds. But since it may be cool in October you might want to bring an extra cover or a sleeping bag. To reserve a cabin bunk contact Frank Young at (304) 372-3945 or by e-mail at <fyoung@wvhighlands.org>.

For motel rooms in Elkins you can call the Elkins Motor Lodge at (304) 636-1400 or the Elkins Super 8 Motel at (304) 636-6500.
