Sept. 11 - Third annual Ironweed Festival sponsored by the Appalachian Women's Alliance (Saturday) from 11AM to 11 PM at the Appalachian South Folklife Center in Pipestem, West Virginia. The Festival celebrates the artistic talent, regional leadership and courageous lives of Appalachian women through music, storytelling, poetry, dance, and visual arts. Sept. 18 - Planning West Virginia’s State Forests, Part 2. Days Inn in Flatwoods, 9 AM to 4 PM. This workshop is designed to help citizens understand how they can have a voice in state forest plans.
