Beginning in February 1998, many new copies of the Conservancy’s Hiking Guide to the Monongahela National Forest have contained a reply postcard, entitling the purchaser to a free, six-month trial membership in the Conservancy. As an incentive, each person returning the postcard has been entered in a drawing for a new pair of Nikon Binoculars. This promotion has resulted in fifty new trial members so far in 1998.

Now the Binocular Drawing date is approaching. On Tuesday, December 1st, at 1:00 PM, at the Green Umbrella office in Morgantown, 264 High Street, Conservancy Staffer Dave Saville will plunge his hand into the official contest backpack, rustle around among the cards received by that date, and pull out a lucky winner! The results of the December 1, 1998 drawing will be published in the Voice.

If you act fast, and give someone one of the trial membership gift certificates being offered on a separate page in this edition of the Voice, your certificate recipient might be able to get into this year’s contest. But if you’re too late this year, don’t worry -- another contest is set for next year!
