Have Something To Offer? VOLUNTEER for WVHC Board

Every year in October the West Virginia Highlands Conservancy elects five members to its' Board of Directors. In even numbered years we also elect six Officers.

As directed by our by-laws, I have appointed a nominations committee to nominate members to be Directors and Officers. Officers usually, but not always, are folks who've been on the Board of Directors for some time.

How do people become Board members? Usually that happens when folks become activists on this or that issue, start attending Board of Directors meetings and annual membership meetings, and are recognized for their leadership.

Sometimes good leaders can be overlooked by the nominations committee. Members with leadership to offer the Conservancy can be considered by the nominations committee for nomination to our Board of Directors. Attendance at meetings and other contributions are expected of Directors.

Elections will be held at our annual membership meeting on October 15th.

You can offer your leadership abilities by contacting our nominations committee. The nominations committee consists of:

Cindy Rank, chairwoman, HC 78 Box 227, Rock Cave WV 26234 phone (304) 924-5802

Don Garvin, P.O. Box 666, Buckhannon WV 26201; (304) 472-8716; <dsgjr@aol.com>

Carroll Jett, 397 Claylick Road, Sherman WV 26164; (304) 273-5247; <carrolljett@yahoo.com>
