Clouds hang just above the mountain tops in the high Allegheny Mountains of West Virginia. Notice that we see no roads, pipelines, power lines or anything man made here. This valley is remote and relatively pristine. In October, mountain ash trees show bright red berries as shown. This is the rocky rim of Long Run Valley, on the south edge of Roaring Plains. Green Knob and Haystack Knob are in the top left. Mount Porte Crayon is the farthest mountain slightly right of top center.
(Note: Green Knob does have a 150' transmitter tower but it is not apparent in this image).
