This is not on the Plains but nearby Dolly Sods North. We don't have any good winter photos from on top of the Plains due to its remote nature. Winter snowstorms make access to the Plains difficult, except perhaps by skis. Some winters the snow is not impassable and you can take a big risk and drive FS70 to the pipeline in the heart of the Plains. The problem with that is a two foot snowstorm can happen at any time, even through April and your car will be stranded.
